utilizes teaching methods specifically tailored to the individual
needs of our students. Our program is constantly evolving through
consultation with the Royal Spanish Academy to ensure that the
grammar and techniques used are both accurate and current. A
consistently high level of tuition is ensured by the daily review of
individual evaluations by our technical directors.
Each student receives one-on-one instruction with a dedicated
teacher ensuring a learning experience free from the distractions of
a traditional classroom environment. Your teacher will design an
individual program, appropriate to your level and pace of learning,
utilizing a variety of teaching techniques and resources offered by
our school, including audiovisual, verbal and game play.
The focus of your program can also be directed to your purpose for
study, be it a specific profession, credits for university or simply
for travel. We are also able to create programs specifically
designed for children.
It is our goal to provide a flexible learning experience at a
consistently exemplary level.
Levels
When you reserve a space on our program it is necessary to complete
a test to establish at which level your program should be designed.
This test can be taken either before your arrival into Guatemala,
prior to starting classes or on your first day, whichever is more
suitable for you. After completing the test we will be able to
ascertain which of the four following categories will be most
suitable for you.
Basic
For those students who have never studied the Spanish Language
before. The main objective is to guarantee the student, in a minimum
amount of time, a basic level in expression and understanding of the
language in different day-to-day situations.
Intermediate
For those students who already have some knowledge of the Spanish
Language but have little understanding of the grammar and need to
acquire more vocabulary. On finishing a course at this level, the
students will be able to express themselves in a reasonably
acceptable way, grammatically speaking, and will have notably
increased their vocabulary.
Advanced
For those students who have a good or very good knowledge of Spanish
grammar, in theory, but need to put it into practice. At this level
the student will obtain a more specific vocabulary, and at the end
of the course will be able to hold deep conversations on any topic
without problems. Special attention will be given to the more
problematic elements of Spanish grammar.
Proficiency
For those students who have a good understanding of all the grammar,
together with an extensive vocabulary, but still make mistakes using
and coordinating the two. At this level the student will be involved
in extensive study of both the theory and practice of the language,
dealing with all aspects of language and life. There will also be
the opportunity to explore Guatemalan Literature adding to the
student’s Guatemalan Experience.
